Boca Raton, Florida was recently ranked in the top 20 best cities in the United States to start a small business in a study released by NerdWallet and Entrepreneur.
As Daszkal Bolton was founded in Boca Raton as a full-service accounting firm in 1992, we are proud to celebrate this ranking as a bit of hometown pride.
Out of the top 20 cities noted in the study’s findings, Boca Raton, whose motto is “A City for All Seasons,” ranked just shy of the top 10. With an average revenue of $1.3 million per business, Boca Raton came in as the 11th best city. A total of 463 U.S cities with populations of 50,000-100,000 were examined to pinpoint which small cities provided the best opportunities for small businesses. To determine which companies should be included, NerdWallet and Entrepreneur examined metrics from the U.S. Census Bureau, including business revenue, median annual income, unemployment rate and other factors relating to business climate and local economic health.
A few common denominators among the top ranking cities were an increase in jobs relating to technology, proximity to more populous cities, and contributions to strong local economies.
Boca Raton, commonly referred to as the “home of the first PC,” is benefiting from a resurgence in its high tech community.
Daszkal Bolton is proud to continue to have a strong commitment to the technology industry through corporate support, client service and the individual contributions made our professionals in such organizations like the South Florida Technology Alliance (SFTA), FAU TechRunway and the Research Park at Florida Atlantic University.
While we knew that Boca Raton was a great city for an accounting and advisory services firm more than 23 years ago, we welcome the latest recognition and look forward to the continued economic growth of our hometown.
