Mary is a Principal with the firm. She focuses closely-held and family-owned businesses. Mary assists business owners in reducing their total tax liability, while acting as an adjunct to companies’ internal bookkeeping and accounting staff. In addition, Mary provides consulting services for retirement planning, expense reduction, employee retention, as well as technology analysis and streamlining of accounting systems. Her primary role as trusted advisor is to enable business owners to focus on operational and strategic goals and help in the decision-making process by providing historical and prospective financial data on a timely basis.
Mary is a leader in the Firm’s Real Estate Practice. She assists commercial and residential real estate investors in identifying the tax implications of real estate investments. Mary determines the most effective strategies for investors to reach their goals and objectives, and implements appropriate accounting systems to address and manage the complex issues involved in these transactions.
Prior to joining the Firm, Mary was employed in the private sector in various accounting positions. In these roles, she was responsible for tax return preparation for both corporate and individual clients, cash flow analyses, and management of accounts payable and receivable.
Mary earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Florida Atlantic University and an Executive Master of Science in Taxation from Florida International University. Mary is a Certified Public Accountant through the State of Florida and is an active member of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA).
